PRSA’s Chesapeake Chapter is devastated by the recent shooting at the Capital Newspaper in Annapolis.

As members of the Annapolis-based, Public Relations Society of America Chesapeake Chapter, we join our close-knit community in mourning the five reporters and editors senselessly killed at our hometown Capital Gazette newspaper. The brilliant staff of this paper worked tirelessly to serve as the fabric of our community, and as public relations professionals, we worked with them on a daily basis. We have not only lost respected colleagues, we have lost our friends. Yet, despite the tragedy, these inspiring professionals still managed to print their daily paper just hours afterward. An attack of any kind - especially on journalism and our journalists - is an attack on our freedom.
