Psychologist and consultant Dr. Abbey Durkin will address multiple aspects of leadership communication, including diverse workforces, high-visibility and high-pressure environments, and self-care. She will give communications pros tools and recommendations and share anecdotes from her life relevant to resilience, adventure, and persevering in both corporate culture and life abroad. About our speaker
Abbey-Robin Durkin, PhD has provided expert consultation services internationally, ranging from being an active-duty US Army Major psychologist, a Senior Advisor for the Henry Jackson Foundation for Military Medicine, and currently as the Senior Psychologist overseeing the US Embassy architecture as Chief Psychologist. Her program has provided healthcare (in person and virtually) for 143 embassies/consulates and their families in collaboration with the State Department, all branches of the US Military, Tricare, and the FBI, to ensure coordination and care across a full spectrum of public and private enterprises abroad. She has traveled to 54 international locations, meeting with senior defense officials, ambassadors, regional medical officers, psychiatrists, and representatives of US agencies during times of crisis. She routinely speak at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health (Bloomberg), helping future leaders of public health avoid burnout in their nationally appointed positions.
